NEW BRITAIN, Conn. - Salve Regina University women's cross country raced with Division I runners at the Central Connecticut State University and finished fifth at the CCSU Mini-Meet on Friday afternoon. The 3K race serves as the final tune-up for the Seahawks before the Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship meet. Salve Regina posted a team score of 128, led by three Seahawks who finished in the top-25.

Salve Regina women's cross country scored 56 points at the Pop Crowell Invitational hosted by Gordon College, giving the Seahawks a share of the team championship with Saint Anselm College. Seahawk senior Caroline Norton raced ahead of the pack and finished first out of 270 runners with a time of 19:13. It was her second first-place finish in four races this season.

Senior Caroline Norton finished second overall with a time of 19:49 to lead the Salve Regina University women's cross country team to a first place finish at the Elms Invitational on Saturday morning. The Seahawks defeated 14 other schools in the meet, including Commonwealth Coast (CCC) foes such as the Univerity of New England, Curry College, and Eastern Nazarene College.
