Salve Regina competes with Division I runners at Central Connecticut

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. - Salve Regina University women's cross country raced with Division I runners at the Central Connecticut State University and finished fifth at the CCSU Mini-Meet on Friday afternoon. The 3K race serves as the final tune-up for the Seahawks before the Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship meet.  Salve Regina posted a team score of 128, led by three Seahawks who finished in the top-25.

Senior Caroline Norton (Portland, Conn.) ran in 10:56 for a 19th overall finish. She was followed by her sophomore teammate Kayley Ryan (Portland, Conn.) with an 11:06 time and a 22nd overall finish. Sophomore Ema Waldschmidt (Verbank, N.Y.) came in at 11:18 for a 25th place.

The Seahawks hope to end the long reign of Roger Williams University at the conference meet next week at Colt State Park in Bristol, R.I.
