Women's cross country earns USTFCCCA honors
NEWPORT, R.I. - The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Champion Salve Regina University women's cross country team has been honored as a U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Team.
The Seahawks are one of 187 teams representing 38 conferences to earn the honor. In order to qualify, teams are required to compile a cumulative grade-point average of 3.10 or higher through the 2011 fall semester.
The Salve Regina women's cross country team, which captured the program's first-ever CCC Championship this fall, combined for a team GPA of 3.13. The Seahawks were one of just three teams from the conference to earn the honor.
