Jentgen, Sweeney recognized by NSCAA Scholar All-East Region Team

NEWPORT, R.I. – Salve Regina University senior Ian Jentgen and junior Brian Sweeney have been selected to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) 2011 College Division Men Scholar All-East Region Team. Jentgen was announced as a member of the second team, while Sweeney earned honorable mention recognition.

NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University seniors Nicodemo Camarda, Ian Jentgen, Christopher Knoth, and Sean McAllister were each named to the All-Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Men's Soccer Team, as announced by commissioner Gregg Kaye on Sunday. McAllister and Jentgen were both selected to the All-CCC Second Team, while Knoth and Camarda each earned All-CCC Honorable Mention.

MILTON, Mass.- Curry College tied Salve Regina University, 0-0 in double overtime, in CCC action on Saturday in Milton. With the tie the Colonels finish the regular season at 9-9-2 overall and 2-5-2 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference. The Seahawks move to 6-8-3 overall and 2-4-3 in the CCC.

MIDDLETOWN, R.I. - Senior Christopher Knoth scored the game-winning goal in the 78th minute to propel the Salve Regina University men's soccer team to a thrilling 2-1 victory over the visiting University of New England during Senior Day at Gaudet Field on Sunday afternoon. The win improves the Seahawks to 6-8-1 overall and 2-4-1 in the conference, and more importantly, gives them control over the final CCC playoff spot. The Nor'easters fall to 2-10 on the season and 1-6 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC).
