CENTERVILLE, Mass. - Junior Tyler Colby (Easton, Conn.) added to his postseason awards as he was named to the 2013 Eastern Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) New England All-Stars first team, as announced by the conference office.

NEWPORT, R.I. – Salve Regina University has landed 31 student-athletes on the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) 2012-13 Winter/Spring Academic All-Conference Team, announced Friday, June 7 by Commissioner Gregg M. Kaye.

NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University director of athletics Colin Sullivan announced today that Eric Cirella will become the fifth head coach in the history of the school's baseball program, succeeding his father, Steve Cirella, who retires as head coach after 14 seasons and will remain involved in the program as an assistant.

Salve Regina will look to build on the success of 2013 as all the starters in the field and line up are set to return for the 2014 season.
Seahawks season in review

NEWPORT, R.I. - The Salve Regina baseball team finished the season with the second most wins in program history while several players earned all conference and all region honors. The Seahawks finished the year with impressive numbers as a team and individually to land in the top-50 in many offensive and pitching categories in the NCAA.

NEWPORT, R.I. - Eight players representing four Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) schools were selected to the 2013 d3baseball.com All-New England Region Teams Monday, including two from Salve Regina (29-12) junior catcher Dominic Di Sano (Central Falls, R.I.) made the first team while junior designated hitter Tyler Colby (Easton, Conn.) made the second team.

NEWPORT, R.I. – Sophomore Vincent Roth (Pleasant Valley, N.Y.) allowed just two extra base hits over 7.2 strong innings on the mound for the Seahawks as the Salve Regina baseball team defeated Wentworth Institute of Technology, 9-3, in the second round of the Commonwealth Coast Conference tournament, Friday afternoon.

NEWPORT, R.I. - After head coach Steve Cirella earned his 300th career coaching victory and the Salve Regina University baseball team began receiving votes for the top eight programs in New England, the Seahawks placed six players on the 2013 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) all-conference team, headlined by a Rookie of the Year selection for freshman Ryan Kelly (Waldwick, N.J.).

While a fantastic freshman campaign could lead to unrealistic expectations, Salve Regina's Ryan Kelly has the proper work ethic and attitude to avoid a sophomore slump.

NEWPORT, R.I. – The Salve Regina baseball team fell to Commonwealth Coast Conference foe, Endicott, in its senior day doubleheader at historic Cardines Field, Saturday afternoon. The Gulls defeated the Seahawks 15-2 in the first game before taking the nightcap, 23-3.

NEWPORT, R.I. – Just a few days after the release of the New England coaches’ poll, in which the Salve Regina baseball team received votes in the regional rankings for the first time since 2006, the NCAA released its first regional rankings of the 2013 season. The Seahawks landed eighth in the New England region with a record of 26-7 so far on the year.

MILTON, Mass. - The Salve Regina baseball team pushed its winning streak to 10 games with its sixth Commonwealth Coast Conference doubleheader sweep of the season, taking both games from Curry. The Seahawks took the first game 7-4 in nine innings before completing the sweep with a 2-1 win in the night cap.
