Seahawks place second at Western New England Invitational

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- The women's cross country team whizzed to a second place finish out of nine teams and had ten runners achieve personal best times Saturday at the Western New England Invitational. 

Isabella Hastings came in second out of 81 competitors and was just six seconds behind the winning time of 22:51, posted by Grace Kaercher from Williams College. She now has the sixth fastest Salve Regina 6,000-meter time in history. 

In addition to Hastings, Anna Weygang, Avery BracciaSarah Hauptman, Lindsay Sirois, Catherine Minegar, Grace Holmander, Bridget Esposito, Claudia Jankovich, Liv McHugh all ran personal bests.

"Sarah Hauptman placed 4th for the Seahawks," said head coach Kacie Gallo. "Sarah had a huge race for us today stepping into a varsity scoring position. She stepped up when we needed her to, and I am so proud of her dedication and hard work this season."
