Salve Regina finishes third at Brown Bear Invitational

ATTLEBORO, Mass. -- The women's cross country team raced to a third-place finish in a field of ten teams Saturday morning at the Brown Bear Invitational at Highland Park.

This was the team's first 6k race of the season and for the freshman, the longest race of their collegiate career yet. Isabella Hastings finished in the top ten, coming in ninth with a time of 24:08.71. Anna Weygang finished 17th in a time of 25:03.21 and Avery Braccia finished 22nd in a time of 25:29.11. 

In 2022 Bre Shipman was the fastest Salve Regina runner, finishing in 34th with a time of 25:30.00. Liv Forbes posted the second fastest Seahawks finish with a time of 26:42.35 in 54th place. In 2023 the team saw several personal bests and Forbes beat her previous time by over a minute.

The Seahawks will return to action next  Saturday, Oct. 7 at the Westfield State University Meet. The race is set to begin at 10:30 a.m.
