Ryan leads Seahawks to fourth-place finish at James Earley Invitational

WESTFIELD, Mass. - The Salve Regina University women's cross country team placed fourth at the 14th annual James Earley Invitational at Stanley Park Saturday morning.

 

The Seahawks finished with 140 points, which was behind only Vassar College (28 points), Trinity (63 points), and Westfield State (135 points).

 

Salve Regina was led by freshman Kayley Ryan (Portland, Conn.), who placed 14th overall with a time of 19:38. Sophomore Alexis Gallipoli (Branford, Conn.) was next for SRU in 23rd place with a mark of 19:55, and freshman Bridget Meeghan (Nashua, N.H.) was third for the Seahawks in 29th place at 20:08.

 

Freshman Emma Waldschmidt (Verbank, N.Y.) place 40th overall with a time of 20:21, and freshman Victoria Beardweed (Coventry, R.I.) rounded out the top five runners for Salve Regina as she placed 50th with a time of 20:31.

 

The Seahawks return to action on Saturday when they race at Connecticut College at 11 a.m.
