WORCESTER, Mass. -- Salve Regina women's volleyball fell 3-0 to NEWMAC program Clark University but reestablished their winning record against Western New England University with a 3-2 victory.

The Seahawks are working to make a name for themselves through consistency and focus with 2023 being their first year in the NEWMAC

In an exciting five-setter against Western New England, the Seahawks came from behind after losing the first two sets. The team was able to reset, find a groove and perform under pressure to win the remaining three sets of the day and earn a well-deserved win (21-25, 13-25, 25-23, 27-25, 15-10).

TEAM THOUGHTS:

"Clark volleyball played a very good game, and they have some incredible athletes on the floor," said head coach Sebastian Noordzy. "We weren't able to get our point scoring going as much as we'd like after collecting too many errors. However, Salve volleyball has this unbelievable belief in ourselves that we can come back from any deficit and win. It's really something that I haven't seen in many teams I've coached prior. Brighton's 26.5 points led the way and a lot of toughness through adversity was another piece that helped us through the final 3 sets."

ON THE HORIZON:

On Tuesday, Oct. 3 the Seahawks will have another NEWMAC contest. This time Worcester Polytechnic Institute will host Salve Regina at 7 p.m.
