Lyons top Seahawks, AMCATS fall

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. -- The Mount Holyoke College Lyons overcame Salve Regina women's volleyball 3-1, however the Seahawks Squashed the Anna Maria College AMCATS 3-0 in the second match of the day. The Mount Holyoke face off marks the Seahawks second NEWMAC contest of the season after the team met the Wellesley College Blue on Tuesday, Sept. 19. 

INSIDE THE MATCHUPS:

All-Time Series: Salve Regina has faced Mount Holyoke three times in the past, all three of which have resulted in a 3-0 win for the Seahawks.

All-Time Series: The Seahawks have a 10-0 record against Anna Maria. The first time the teams met was in 2002 and at the last meeting on 2019 Salve Regina won 3-0.

  • Siena DeCicco posted a whopping 32 assists throughout the game.
  • Brighton Solheim (25), Lucy Swanson (18) and Kate Murphy (15) topped the Seahawk dig chart. 
  • The team's average hitting percentage was .138 for the match, with 52 kills, 28 errors and 174 total attempts across four sets (15-25, 20-25, 25-19, 22-25).
