NEWPORT, R.I. - The No. 22 ranked Babson College women's volleyball team defeated Salve Regina University 3-0 (25-16, 25-17, 27-25) in non-conference action Friday evening at the Rodgers Recreation Center.

"There's great opportunities in challenges," said head coach Sebastian Noordzy. "Number 22 ranked Babson came into our gym and we knew it was going to be one of the hardest games we'll have all season and because they're such a quality program, they were able to spotlight our strengths and weaknesses for us to build up going into the back half of the season. We competed from the jump and did some really great things athletically in front of a great Friday night crowd. We'll be looking forward to playing teams of that caliber in the NEWMAC and we're stoked for the lessons this match taught us heading into conference play."

Salve Regina (5-5) is right back in action on Saturday, September 24, when it hosts Nichols in the first Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) match of the season at 1 p.m.
