Summary
NEWPORT, R.I. - Visiting Endicott College defeated the Salve Regina University women's volleyball team 3-0 (25-19, 25-21, 25-17) in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action Tuesday night.

Series and Streaks
The Gulls improve to 24-4 in the all-time series and have won nine in a row versus the Seahawks.

Three Stars of the Match

  1. Endicott senior Amanda Gilbert (Hopkinton, Mass.) posted a double-double with 11 kills, 11 digs, and team-best .323 swing percentage.
  2. Endicott sophomore Danica Glover (Seal Beach, Calif.) had a match-high 23 assists along with four aces and six digs.
  3. Salve Regina sophomore Brighton Solheim (Phoenix, Ariz.) paced the Seahawks scoring with a team-high 11 kills while chipping in five digs and a block.

Turning Point
After dropping the first set the Seahawks fell behind early in the second but clawed their way back to take a 14-13 lead. The Gulls answered with an 8-1 run, countered by a 6-1 run for the Seahawks to force an Endicott timeout. Three straight attack errors however handed the set, and a 2-0 lead to the Gulls. Endicott never trailed in the third and final set en route to the sweep.

Quick Hits

  • Katelyn O'Brien (Bridgeport, Pa.) posted a double-double for Salve Regina with a team-high 19 assists and 11 digs.
  • Freshman setter Siena DeCicco (Severna Park, Md.) notched 10 assists in two sets of action.
  • Endicott middle Colleen McAvoy (Coventry, Conn.) was a pressence inside for the Gulls totaling seven kills, three solo blocks, and two assisted blocks.
  • Alexandra Tecun (Hawthorne, Calif.) had a match-high 16 digs.

Salve Regina (4-4, 0-1 CCC) hosts Framingham State on Thursday, September 23, at 6 p.m., in a non-conference matchup while Endicott (5-3, 1-0 CCC) hosts Wheaton at 7 p.m., that same day.
