BRISTOL, R.I. - The Wheaton College women's volleyball team hit .297 in a pivotal fourth set to knot the match at 2-2, before taking the fifth set, 15-11, en-route to a 3-2 (24-26, 25-18, 22-25, 25-17, 15-11) victory over Salve Regina University this afternoon at the Roger Williams University Invitational at the Campus Rec Center in Bristol, R.I. The Lyons improve to 2-0 on the season, while the Seahawks fall to 0-1 in their season opener.
Brighton Solheim led the Seahawks attack with 19 kills in her collegiate debut while Katelyn O'Brien handed out a career-high 35 assists and Kate Muprhy racked up a career-best 34 digs.
The Seahawks return home to host Connecticut College on Wednesday, September 8 at 6:00 p.m., while Wheaton hosts Rhode Island College on Friday, September 10, at 6 p.m.
