Bender, Donahue named captains for 2019

NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina women's volleyball head coach Lauren Parsons has announced Andee Bender (Lebanon, Conn.) and Annie Donahue (Chelmsford, Mass.) as captains for the 2019 season.

Donahue, a three-time All-CCC performer, enters her senior season with the Seahawks, and her second year of captaincy. 

Bender is named captain for the first time in her Seahawks career.

"I'm excited about having these two as captains this year and I know they will lead this team well," said Parsons.  "Annie and Andee will bring a good level of accountability and focus to the team.   They are both leaders on and off the court and even though they have been named captains it is the responsibility of the entire team to be leaders and good role models.  With a young squad returning it will important for the captains to teach the underclassmen to 'ride the wave' as we say."
