NEWPORT, R.I. - The Salve Regina University women's volleyball team hosts Rhode Island College and Framingham State University in a non-conference tri-match. The Seahawks and Anchormen have the 10 a.m., match followed by the neutral matchup between Framingham State University and Rhode Island College. The match between Salve Regina and Framingham State will start at 2 p.m.

SEAHAWKS NOTES FROM THE NEST

  • Seniors Cassidy Trabilcy and Megan Parham alongside junior Annie Donahue will serve as captains for the 2018 season.
  • Head coach Lauren Parsons enters seventh season leading the Seahawks. The team has made the playoffs in each of the six previous seasons including two conference championship matches. 
  • Annie Donahue leads the Seahawks with 100 kills and 29 blocks while Erin Proctor paces the squad with 266 assists and Katie Linekin hold down the defense with 107 digs.

ANCHORMEN ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • The Anchormen have won three matches in a row, with two sweeps entering today's competition.
  • The team is led by Jillian Ward with 92 kills, Jacqueline Jutras' 211 assists, Marisa Brynes' 103 digs, and Jessica Brielmaier's 13 blocks.

RAMS ROUNDUP

  • The Rams have won two matches in a row coming into today's competition, most recently defeating Western New England in a thrilling five-set match.
  • Brandee Thomas leads the Rams attack with 84 kills while Deirdre Fay holds down the defense with 98 digs. Mackenzie Whalen leads the team with 236 assists.

INSIDE THE SERIES
The Seahawks and Anchormen meet for the 15th time with RIC holding an 8-6 edge all-time. Meanwhile the Seahawks hold an 11-6 advantage over the Rams in their all-time series.

Rhode Island College travels to face Anna Maria on September 18, at 7 p.m. while Framingham State hits the road for a MASCAC matchup with Fitchburg State at 5 p.m., on September 18. Salve Regina begins their conference schedule with a CCC road match versus Wentworth on September 19, at 7 p.m.
