Williams throws PR in hammer

NEW LONDON, Conn. - Salve Regina University junior Danika Williams [Anchorage, Alaska] had a "field" day, recording four personal bests in the hammer, discus, shot put and javelin during the Silfen Invitational Track & Field Meet host by Connecticut College on Saturday.

Williams hammer toss fell within two feet of the school record (114'0") set by Adrienne Terra three years ago at Rhode Island College.Williams placed fifth in the hammer and seventh in the shot.

Alyssa Desmarais [Burlington, Conn.] also placed in the shot and recorded a fifth in the discus. Also scoring for Salve Regina were Ali Galliopoli [Branford, Conn.] in the 1500m and Marisa Fiore [Lexington, Mass.] in the 800m.
