Seahawks trio make All-CCC

Casey Farrell, Sailor Nordstrom, and Alexa Stevens found a place on the CCC All-Conference team.

BIDDEFORD, Maine – The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) announced its 2022 Women's Tennis All-Conference Teams and major award winners Tuesday morning. Seven of the eight CCC schools were represented on this year's list. Roger Williams and Nichols each had six honorees to lead the group.

There were two student-athletes bestowed the honor of Player of the Year with Gordon's Annette Kim (Andover, Mass.) and Roger Williams' Emma Place (Francestown, N.H.) both being recognized. Place was also one of two student-athletes to earn the CCC Scholar-Athlete award. Joining her was Suffolk's Bianca Prescott (East Granby, Conn.). Nichols freshman Charis Vogler (Brandenburg, Germany) was voted the CCC Rookie of the Year. Hawks head coach Barry Gorman earned Coach of the Year honors, while Suffolk was granted the Team Sportsmanship award.

Three members of the Salve Regina University women's tennis made the All-Conference squad. Sailor Nordstrom took home first team honors at singles, while Alexa Stevens made third team singles. Nordstrom earned a spot on the second team doubless list along with partner Casey Farrell.

"All three of these young women deserve this honor," said head coach. Bruce Levine. "They have all worked very hard over the season and shown great improvements in their game. Sailor and Casey, are resilient and very athletic; a difficult opponent for anyone they play. Alexa, has begun at the ball harder and use the court more efficiently. I'm very proud of all three of them."

Voting for the All-CCC Teams and major awards was conducted by the eight CCC head women's tennis coaches following the conclusion of the regular season and do not take postseason play into consideration.
