Seahawks outscore Wildcats in Hard Court Triples

In its first action of the spring, Salve Regina women's tennis played in mid-season form as it bested Johnson & Wales during the second annual Hard Court Triples Tournament.

NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University women's tennis swept six matches in Triple B and split another six in Triple A to capture the championship in the second annual Hard Court Triples Tournament on Saturday in Newport.

The event debuted last season to offer women's tennis programs with their championship seasons primarily in the fall to get playing opportunities in the spring. Hard Court Triples features multiple round robins where three teammates play another group of three in singles and doubles. All three players in a "triple" play one singles match and two doubles matches (with a different partner each match) during the tournament.
