Cougars come back from early deficit to subdue Seahawks

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Clark University women's soccer team (7-3-3, 2-3-1 NEWMAC) played their first official NEWMAC game in program history against Salve Regina University (3-5-4, 1-5-0 NEWMAC) and came away with a thrilling 3-1 win on Wednesday night from Granger Field.

All-Time Series: Tonight was the first official NEWMAC meeting between the two programs and 11th all-time. The Cougars lead the series 9-2-0.

NOTEWORTHY:

  • The Cougars attempted 12 shots, with seven of them going on target. Seahawks had 15 shots with 11 on target.
  • Clark earned five corner kicks, and Salve Regina attempted six.
  • Anabella White registered three saves while Reagan Moffatt stopped four shots. Sabrina Lawless gave a four-minute relief appearance after Moffatt exited with a first-half injury and faced no shots. 

ON THE HORIZON:
The Seahawks continue their work on the road when they travel to MIT for a NEWMAC meeting with the Engineers on Saturday (1 p.m.).
