NEWPORT, R.I. (October 2, 2021) - Salve Regina University senior Erin Harnisch (Old Tappan, N.J.), one of nine Seahawk women's soccer players honored before game, shone the brightest on Senior Day as she assisted on a first-half goal and scored two goals in the second half to lead her team to a 3-0 win over Curry College in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action at Reynolds Field.

Series and Streaks
Salve Regina is unbeaten in the last five meetings with Curry (4-0-1). The Colonels hold a slight edge in the all-time series, 17-16-1. The last meeting in Newport featured two first-half goals from Abby McMackin that held up for a 2-1 final. Seahawks are 5-1 in home games this year (Toppa Field, 2-1; Reynolds Field, 3-0).

Three Stars of the Game

  1. Salve Regina senior Erin Harnisch (Old Tappan, N.J.) factored in all three Seahawk goals, assisting on an Olivia Pickard (Wellfleet, Mass.) score with her free kick from near midfield, and then converting a Meagan McLaughlin (East Hampton, Conn.) cross before scoring her second goal of the season on a free kick.
  2. Salve Regina junior Georgia Drake (Plymouth, Mass.) stopped nine Colonel shots on her frame and consistently blasted punts beyond midfield.
  3. Curry junior McKenna Reid (Irvine, Calif.) worked the midfield for the Colonels and covered the most area of any player which included executing her team's four corner kicks.

Key Stat of the Game
Curry held the advantage in shots, 13-11, but everything on goal was stopped by Georgia Drake (nine saves) including six in the second half.

Turning Point
Erin Harnisch launched a long free kick from the center circle that one-hopped Curry keeper Hannah Correa (Carver, Mass.) and Olivia Pickard picked up the rebound for the first goal of the game in the 13th minute.

Quick Hits

  • Harnisch led the Seahawks with four shots, all on goal.
  • Three different Colonels had two shots apiece - McKenna Reid, Maddie Resendes (Coventry, R.I.), and Sydney Dewhurst (East Bridgewater, Mass.).
  • Hannah Correa had three saves in 90 minutes.
