PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Junior forward Meagan McLaughlin (East Hampton, Conn.) had a hand in every goal for the Salve Regina University women's soccer team as they defeated Rhode Island College 3-0 in non-conference action Saturday afternoon.

Both clubs battled in the first half without either side gaining an edge over the other as the game was scoreless after 45 minutes.

Salve Regina broke the tie in the first minute of the second half as McLaughlin found the back of the net after a pass from senior midfielder  Meaghan Papiro (Glen Head, N.Y.).

McLaughlin found pay dirt again just seven minutes later for her second goal of the day, and the season, to give the Seahawks a two-goal advantage.

The Seahawks put the game on ice as senior forward Molly Breslin (Rockaway Park, N.Y.) buried her offering in the 69th minute on the setup from McLaughlin.

Freshman goalkeeper Reagan Kerecz (Tolland, Conn.) registered four saves to fall to 0-3 while Georgia Drake (Mashpee, Mass.) recorded four saves as well for the Seahawks in the victory to improve to 2-1 between the pipes.

Rhode Island College (0-3) will host the University of Saint Joseph on Wednesday, September 8, at 5 p.m., while Salve Regina (2-1) remains on the road versus Coast Guard on September 8 at 6 p.m.
