SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) has selected Salve Regina University sophomore Jamie Robert (Holyoke, Mass.) as its Rookie of the Week for women's soccer (Sept. 3-9).

CCC Rookie of the Week - Robert scored the first two goals of her collegiate career this weekend with a multi-goal game against Rhode Island College on Saturday (Sept. 8). Her first goal, which turned out to be the game-winner, was a long right-footed shot from 18 yards out, which beat the keeper. Goal number two came on a header late in the contest to seal the 3-1 victory.

"Jamie's athleticism, attitude, and nose for the goal will make a huge difference offensively for us this season," says her head coach Jane Walsh. "It's great to see a first-year player step up and take control during critical moments. She displayed veteran composure with both goals. I'm interested to see how more experience affects her game."

The Seahawks (2-1) play at Coast Guard Academy in New London, Conn., on Wednesday (Sept. 12) before opening their conference schedule at home against Curry College on Reynolds Field this Saturday.
