NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University women's soccer will host the first home contest of any Seahawk varsity sport in 2014-15 when it entertains the Corsairs of UMass Dartmouth on Wednesday, September 3 (3:30 p.m.).

Under second-year head coach Jessica DePolito, Salve Regina kicks off its season at the Lasell College Tournament where the Seahawks face the Owls of Keene State College on the neutral turf of Newton, Mass., on Saturday, August 30. The Seahawks and Owls play at 2:30 p.m., after the host school faces Bay Path in a noon start. Salve Regina has never faced any of the three teams in the tournament.

The Seahawks and Corsairs have met 23 times on the pitch in women's soccer, and Salve Regina has won three of the last five meetings and six of the last nine. That starts a five-game home stand for the Seahawks who won two of their first four home games in 2013, including a 4-0 defeat of Wesleyan University.

Next on the home stand is Rhode Island College (Tuesday, September 9 @ 4 p.m.); the Seahawks are 4-1-1 against the Anchorwomen in the last six meetings after drawing a 2-2 tie in 2013.

Salve Regina opens its Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) schedule when it hosts Nichols College on Saturday, September 13 (12 p.m.). The Seahawks are 12-7-3 all-time against the Bison, undefeated in the last five meetings including a 1-0 victory at Dudley, Mass., in 2013.

Fall Festival Weekend arrives October 3-5 with women's soccer hosting Curry College on Reynolds Field on Saturday, October 4 (12 p.m.). Salve Regina has won four of the last five meetings with the Colonels while Curry edged the Seahawks 3-2 in Milton, Mass., last year.

The final regular season home game for the Seahawks is set for Tuesday, October 28 (3:30 p.m.) when the Golden Bears of Western New England University visit. Salve Regina has won two of the last three meetings with Western New England including the last trip to Newport for Golden Bears (4-0 on September 12, 2012).

Lauren Bulk (Portsmouth, R.I.) and Erin McCullough Ludlow, Mass.) both scored seven goals apiece in 2013 to lead the Seahawks, while Anna Shultz (Higganum, Conn.) added a pair of goals.

Salve Regina opened its women's soccer pre-season camp yesterday with 29 players.
