Grace Haesche - NEWMAC Defensive Athlete of the Week // Mar. 11-17

WESTWOOD, Mass. (Monday, March 18, 2024) – Grace Haesche, junior goalie on the women's lacrosse team has been named NEWMAC defensive athlete of the week for March 11-17, 2024. Haesche earns the honor for the second time this season, following her recognition for the week February 19-25, 2024.

"I am beyond proud of Grace for earning defensive athlete of the week for a second time," said head coach Meg Malloy. "She is playing at another level right now, just in time for conference play. Her talent in net has been a pleasure to coach, this is so well-deserved."

Haesche led the way in the Seahawks two wins last week. With Haesche in between the posts the Seahawks beat Bridgewater State University 15-13 and two days later the team achieved their first NEWMAC win as a member of the conference. The Seahawks fourth quarter, four-goal run elevated them to 12-9 over the Wellesley College Blue. Haesche posted a combined 28 saves and four ground balls.
