Seahawks hit the road to open 2017

NEWPORT, R.I. - The Salve Regina University women's lacrosse team returns to the field for the 2017 season on Tuesday, February 28, when it travels to Coast Guard for a 7 p.m. contest in New London, Conn.

Third year head coach Bill Villareal said the team is excited to get the 2017 season started.  Although the team graduated seven seniors from the previous season, the returning players, along with the talented freshmen players, are excited to make their mark in this improving program. 

"The team worked extremely hard during the fall season and are ready to battle it out with our opponents in the upcoming spring season," said Villareal.

The Seahawks season will feature a road trip over spring break (March 13-15) down to Hilton Head, S.C. for two non-conference games with Ramapo and Southern Virginia.

"The schedule is definitely exciting for our team since we will face four new opponents and includes the spring break trip to Hilton Head, S.C.," said Villareal.

The Seahawks first home game will be on Thursday, March 2, at 6:30 p.m. when the team welcomes Lasell College to Gaudet Field.
