Summary
The Salve Regina University women's lacrosse team fell 8-6 to the University of New England in a back and forth defensive game at Gaudet Field.

Series and Streaks
This was the 18th meeting between Salve Regina and the University of New England. The Nor'easters now own a 11-7 advantage in the all-time series and have won five in a row over Salve Regina. 

Three Stars of the Game
1 – UNE junior Jocelyn Davee (Freeport, Maine) scored three times to lead all scorers and collected a game high 10 groundballs and won seven draws.
2 – Salve Regina sophomore Katie Kline (Brookfield, Conn.) scored twice and added a team high eight groundballs.
3 – UNE senior Courtney Kendall (Waltham, Mass.) made 21 saves.

Key Stat of the Game
The Nor'easters won 11 of 16 draw controls.

Turning Point
After leading 1-0, 25 seconds into the game the Seahawks trailed most of the afternoon but battled back to tie the game 6-6 with 9:35 remaining. The Nor'easters responded quickly though when Davee scored her hat-trick goal 56 seconds later to give the lead back to UNE. The Seahawks again found themselves down after working so hard to battle back. Nicole Carvalho (South Kingston, R.I.) cashed in with 2:48 remaining and the Nor'easters were able to run out the clock on the Seahawks.

Quick Hits

  • The Seahawks outshot the Nor'easters 33-22.
  • Neither team led by more than two goals the entire game.
  • Carvalho was the only other multiple goal scorer in the game other than Davee and Kline. Seven other plays scored single goals.
  • Katie Jones (Derry, N.H.) made 11 saves in net for the Seahawks.
