SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) announced its all-league women's lacrosse team today and two Salve Regina University players were voted to the squad - seniors Grace Kelly (Auburn, N.Y.) and Kayla Sheehan (Pomfret, Conn.). Both Seahawks received honorable mention accolades in voting conducted among CCC women's lacrosse coaches.

"Grace and Kayla are both special players who led our midfield and defense this season," commented eight-year head coach Jennifer Foster. "Grace stepped up this season into a scoring role for us. Kayla, after suffering an ACL injury last season, came on strong for us anchoring a young defensive unit. I am very proud that both of them can end their collegiate career with conference recognition."

Kelly led the team in scoring with 47 points; she was second on the Seahawks in goals (31) and assists (16). She had her best season of her career in both scoring categories, and finishes as the 10th ranked scorer of all-time in the Seahawk record books (81g, 40a; 121 points).

Sheehan, who transitioned to defense after a 13-goal, two-assist freshman campaign in 2011, had a career-high 22 ground balls in 2014. She also doubled her career caused turnover total, from 15 to 30.

Salve Regina (5-11; 1-7 CCC) won its final two games including a road conference victory at Wentworth, 16-10. On senior night against Wheelock, three of four Seahawk seniors scored goals (led by three from Karley Malenczak) while the other senior (Josephine O'Reilly) minded the net during a 17-4 victory.
