NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University junior Kelly Burke (Georgetown, Mass.) and sophomore Josie O'Reilly (Middletown, R.I.) were both announced as recipients of Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) weekly awards on Tuesday afternoon. Burke was selected as the CCC Offensive Player of the Week, while O'Reilly was named CCC Defensive Player of the Week.

Burke led the Seahawks with a team-high 13 points and 10 goals over two games. She begin the week with a strong all-around performance during an 18-13 conference victory over Roger Williams, compiling four goals, three assists, four draw controls, three ground balls, and a caused turnover. She went on to net six goals in the Seahawks' 16-7 win versus Emerson, adding five draw controls. For the week, she recorded an efficient .667 shot percentage and an .800 shots-on-goal percentage.

O'Reilly was terrific in net for the Seahawks this week, earning victories in both of Salve Regina's contests. She made 11 saves during SRU's 18-13 victory over CCC-foe Roger Williams, before stopping 13-of-20 shots versus Emerson, saving all six free position shots by the Lions to spark the Seahawks to a 16-7 victory. For the week, O'Reilly compiled an impressive .545 save percentage.

Performances like these have the Seahawks off to their best start in program history. Salve Regina is currently 8-3 overall, needing just one more victory to match the program's all-time mark for wins in a season. Burke, O'Reilly, and the Seahawks will return to action this Wednesday, facing Nichols in a conference contest on the road starting at 4 p.m.
