BRISTOL, R.I. - Junior Jennifer Jones (Basking Ridge, N.J.) led all players with six goals, sparking the Salve regina University women's lacrosse team to its first cinference win of the season with an 18-13 victory over Roger Williams on Tuesday night.
The Seahawks improve to 7-3 with the win and move their conference record to 1-2. Roger Williams falls to 3-9 overall and 1-2 in the CCC. 
Jennifer Jones set the pace and started the scoring for Salve Regina at 25:43 in the first period with Jessica Searl (Glastonbury, Conn.) answering at 23:45 to tie the game early.  Kelly Burke (Georgetown, Mass.) scored next for Salve Regina with Danica Delia (Norwalk, Conn.) bringing it back to an even the game at 20:17.
Salve Regina took control of the first period at 15:33 on a goal from Jones that began a five goal unanswered run. Jones followed up with her third ball on net with Mary-Ashley Donelan (Upton, Mass.), Hannah McAvoy (Saco, Maine), and Burke chipping in to put the score at 7-2. 
RWU's Delia stopped the run at 6:57 for her second goal but Sara Livingston (Westford, Mass) matched the effort off an assist from Grace Kelly (Auburn, N.Y.).  Jones put her fourth goal in at 4:55 with RWU's MacKenzie Logan (Sussex, N.J.) answering 13 seconds later to finish the first period scoring.
Salve Regina's Livingston and Burke began the scoring in the second period pushing the score to 11-4.  At 27:32 Roger William's Kristin Pingree (Georgetown, Mass.) started a four goal rally that got Samantha Davenport (Bethel, Conn.) and Deven Mechette (Norwalk, Conn.) their first goals of the game and closed the gap to 8-11.
Livingston scored her third to stop the run and Pingree scored her second to keep it a three point game.  SRU's Jones put her fifth and sixth goal on net to spread the lead to back to five goals.  RWU's Delia and Davenport answered again to cut the lead back to three at 12:17 but SRU scored three of the last four goals to finish 18-13.
Justine Sullivan (Norwell, Mass.) had 11 saves for RWU in the loss matching Josie O'Reilly 11 saves in the win. 
 
Roger Williams travels to Milton Mass.to take on Curry Saturday at 2:00 p.m. while Salve Regina hosts Emerson in Middletown, R.I. on Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
