Sydney Baxter- CCC Goalie of the Week // Jan. 22-28

BEVERLY, Mass. (Monday, January 29, 2024) – Sophomore Sydney Baxter of Salve Regina women's ice hockey has been named the Commonwealth Coast Conference Goalie of the week for January 22-28. 

Baxter was credited with the 2-0 shutout win when the Seahawks rendered the Nichols College Bison scoreless on Saturday, January 27. During the contest Baxter faced 28 shots on goal and recorded a 1.0 game save percentage. In the 2023-24 season Baxter has appeared in 11 games, made a total of 270 saves and posted a save percentage of .912. 

"Sydney played a strong game on Saturday, and was tested in a number of different ways," recalled head women's ice hockey coach David Lun. "I'm hoping this gives her a boost to propel her into the finale of regular season."

Women's ice hockey will visit Curry College on Friday, February 2, for a 7 p.m. CCC matchup.
