HARRISVILLE, R.I. – Freshman Victoria Bakopanos stopped all 31 shots she faced in Nichols College's 3-0 win over Salve Regina University Saturday night in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) women's ice hockey action at Levy Rink.
Seniors Isabella Portt scored a pair of goals and added an assist for the Bison (11-7-1, 7-6-1 CCC), who extended their win streak to four games and improved to 7-2-2 in their last 11 meetings with the Seahawks (4-10-2, 3-6-2 CCC).
Senior Alicia Hunks potted her sixth of the season on the power play for NC while graduate students Kara Santoro and Jordyn McGuire, along with junior Jessica Gossas-Moberg and sophomore Grace Melanson, all collected assists. Salve Regina outshot the Bison 31-24 and went 0-for-3 with the extra attacker.
McGuire moved into a tie for fourth place on the all-time assists list with 31 assists, and she now ranks sixth in career points with 42.
