SALVE REGINA VS. U. of NEW ENGLAND

  • In just the third meeting all-time the Nor'easters defeated Salve Regina 2-0 earlier this season to earn their first win of the series. 
  • Annie Kinens scored late in the second period to break a 0-0 tie.
  • The Seahawks still only trailed 1-0 late in the third but could not find the back of the net with the goalie pulled. The Nor'easters scored on the empty net to seal the victory.
  • Prior to that the Seahawks had been 2-0 versus the Nor'easters.

LAST TIME OUT - SALVE REGINA 2, ST. MICHAEL'S 2 - FEBRUARY 20, 2016

  • Leading 1-0 heading into the third the Seahawks found themselves down 2-1 late, but senior Cheyenne Boyd scored her second goal of the game to force overtime in an eventual tie with Saint Michael's College on Senior Night at St. George's.

  • Julianne Sheehan scored the game-winning goal with 9:55 elapsed in the third period to give the University of New England women's ice hockey team a 4-3 victory over the University of Massachusetts Boston Beacons.

  • In 2007 the Seahawks reached the postseason for the first time in program history. They have qualified for the playoffs every year since.
  • Last season the Seahawks defeated Nichols 3-2 in overtime at home before falling to Castleton, 3-2 on the road in the ECAC Women's East Semifinal.

  • This season Danielle Phalon became just the second player in program history to reach 100 points in her career. She also set the program record for goals in a career, currently at 56. She needs three more points to pass Rachel Porter (45g, 57a) for the most points all-time in program history.
