Phalon garners All-New England honors

BOSTON, Mass. –Danielle Phalon (Stoneham, Mass.) of the Salve Regina University women's ice hockey team has been named to the New England Hockey Writers Division II-III All-Star team.

Phalon led the Seahawks and the league in goals with 18, including three on the power play. Phalon ranked fifth in the ECAC Women's East in points with 28. Phalon scored three game-winning goals, a shorthanded goal, and scored the hat trick versus Plymouth State on January 24.

Phalon was named a first team All-Conference forward and made the ECAC Women's East Academic All-Conference team as well. 

"Having Danielle recognized by this award brings great pride to our athletic department , coaching staff and our women's ice hockey program," head coach Beth McCann said. "Danielle Phalon was a main contributor to our success as a team on and off the ice. Her athleticism and passion for the game has made the difference this season in most of our wins and special teams. She has demonstrated a strong work ethic and is a leader of our team. It's with great pride and appreciation that we congratulate Danielle on her accomplishments this season".

This year's banquet will be held on Tuesday, April 21 at the Prince Restaurant in Saugus, Mass. The banquet will start at 6 p.m. All awards and All-Star teams will be presented at the gala. All coaches, student-athletes, family members and friends are encouraged to attend Tuesday's banquet.
