CENTERVILLE, Mass. - Salve Regina University women's ice hockey sophomore forward Danielle Phalon (Stoneham, Mass./East Coast Wizards) has been named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Women's East Player of the Week, as announced by the league office Monday evening.

Phalon had three goals and three assists during a 2-0-1 week for the Seahawks. She tallied at least one point in each of the three games, and had a four-point outing in a 7-1 win over Sacred Heart.

Salve Regina enjoyed a 2-0-1 week and came just 10 seconds shy of a 3-0 week. On Tuesday at Wesleyan, Salve Regina had a pair of late goals from Michaela Chiuccariello (Winchester, Mass.) and Taylor Shepherd (Quincy, Mass.) to overtake the Cardinals, 3-2. Colby College gave the Seahawks a taste of their own medicine with a game-tying goal at 19:50 in the third. Salve Regina killed a penalty in the scoreless overtime session, its fourth extra period of the season.

Phalon's two goals and two assists at Sacred Heart were part of a season-high seven goals for the Seahawks.

The Seahawks next play at Middlebury on January 8.
