WENHAM, Mass. (February 19, 2022) - Madison Wynbeek scored 23 points to help Gordon College women's basketball rally from an 11-point first-half deficit and win by 12 (65-53) over Salve Regina University in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) regular-season finale for both teams. The Seahawks (10-14, 9-9 CCC) finished tied with the Scots (11-13, 9-9 CCC) in the league's regular season standings with Gordon sweeping the season series to get the tiebreak. Gordon will be the No. 5 Seed and play at No. 4 Suffolk University on Tuesday while No. 6 Salve Regina travels to No. 3 Endicott College.

The Gulls and Rams finished tied for the third best record in the conference and split their regular season meetings. Endicott wins the tiebreak with its split against the No. 2 Seed University of New England.

Morgan Shuey and Amanda Folan topped the Seahawk scoring list, both with 11 points on today's game at the Bennett Center. Briana Neary was next with 10 points followed by Ashley Rourke and Megan Henaghan with nine and eight points, respectively.

The Seahawks shot their best in the first quarter (8-20, 40.0%), but their percentage degressed each successive period (2nd - 31.3%; 3rd - 25.0%; 4th - 13.3%).

Rourke led the Seahawks with 11 rebounds including 10 on the defensive glass. Rourke and Shuey both had four assists; three steals for the former and two swipes for the latter. Wynbeek led all players with 16 boards for a double-double on the afternoon.
