NEWPORT, R.I. (November 20, 2021) - Hannah Favorloro (Blackstone, Mass.) had game-highs in points (24) and rebounds (13) and her double-double lifted visiting Clark University over Salve Regina University, 65-56, in non-league women's basketball action at the Rodgers Recreation Center on Saturday afternoon.

For the second straight home game, Salve Regina (1-4) matched its opponent with 11 first-quarter points. Favoloro and Ginny Benbow (Durham, Conn.) accounted for all 11 points for the Cougars with six and five, respectively. For the Seahawks, junior captain Morgan Shuey (Corning, Iowa) scored five of her team-high 14 points in the first 10 minutes.

After Mariah Harris (Stoughton, Mass.) made a pair of free throws in the second quarter to give Clark University (3-3) an 11-point lead (25-14), Salve Regina closed the period with a 15-5 run that started with a Shuey steal and a layup. Shuey's defensive rebound on the next Cougar miss was followed by her assist for a Hannah Autenrieth (Hooksett, N.H.) jump shot. Shuey added another steal and a bucket before Autenrieth duplicated the feat on the subsequent possession.

Junior captain Megan Henaghan (Whitman, Mass.) grabbed a carom off a missed 3-pointer and put back a layup for the 10th consecutive Seahawk point to trail by one. Clark led at the halftime break, 30-29.

Emma Levesque's (Windham, Maine) 3-pointer opened the second-half scoring nearly a minute into the third quarter and it keyed a 9-0 run for the visitors. Jaqueline Faulise (No. Kingstown, R.I.) added another trey while Hallie Johnson's (Princeton, Mass.) second of three threes gave Clark its largest lead, 45-31, at 6:19 in the third quarter.

Sophomore Olivia Martin (Hanson, Mass.) and Ashley Rourke (Londonderry, N.H.) combined for nine points with two and one triples, respectively, and Amanda Folan (North Attleboro, Mass.) capped an 11-0 Seahawk run with her basket at 1:26 before the final period.

Johnson finished with 14 points while Benbow contributed 11 points off the bench for Clark. Rourke joined Shuey in double-figures for the Seahawks with 11 points.

Salve Regina enjoys Thanksgiving before returning to the Rodgers Recreation Center floor to host Eastern Nazarene College next Saturday at 1 p.m. The Cougars entertain Anna Maria at the Kneller Gymnasium on Tuesday afternoon (4 p.m.).
