Swim team kicks off fall season with annual open water swim at Easton's Beach

MIDDLETOWN, R.I.-- The Seahawk swim team started off the 2023-24 season with their annual open water swim at Easton's Beach.  

Every year the team coordinates carpools to Easton's Beach. Pam Heroux, the club's advisor, and the current coach chaperoned the team to ensure the safety of all the swimmers as the ocean can be unpredictable.

Swimmers gathered at Rogers Recreation Center at 5:30 a.m. and drove to Easton's Beach where they warmed up before entering the water and swimming freestyle parallel to the beach. The team makes sure to accommodate all swimmers by returning to campus before 8 a.m. to ensure everyone gets to their classes on time.
