NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (Saturday, April 6, 2024) - Salve Regina University softball fell in a pair of NEWMAC games at Smith College on Saturday afternoon, 10-2 and 7-3, at Pioneers Softball Field.

The first game was all Pioneers as the teams were tied, 1-1, before two big innings from Smith, a four-run second inning and a five-run fourth inning. Salve Regina grabbed a run in the top of the fifth but it wasn't enough to continue.

In game two, Salve Regina trailed 5-0 before freshman Emily Cronin (Coventry, R.I.) raked her first collegiate home run, a three-run shot to left field in the fourth inning. The Pioneers (7-7-1, 2-2 NEWMAC) added two more runs in the sixth for the sweep.
