CLERMONT, Fla. (March 18, 2022) - First-year infielder Jacey Cosciello (Seymour, Conn.) flashed the leather at second base and provided some clutch hits as Salve Regina University softball took two of three games on Friday with two going extra innings. Sophomore outfielder Kaitlyn Bennett (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) provided the most critical game-saving play in the day's first game against Wisconsin Lutheran College when she robbed Katie Scott (Sallisaw, Okla.) with her bases-loaded drive down the right field line in the bottom of the seventh. Scott had another line shot up the middle snagged by Cosciello and turned into an inning-ending double play.

The Seahawks finished off the Warriors in extra innings by scoring seven times in the eighth frame highlighted by a three-run home run by Chloe Bean (Clinton, N.J.).

Bennett provided a game-tying two-run single up the middle in the bottom of the fourth inning against Coe College, after the Seahawks had trailed 5-0 through the first two innings. The score was 5-5 after seven innings and both teams crossed the plate in the eighth before the Kohawks brought home three in the top of the ninth to finish with a 9-7 win.

Maddie Capetta (Raritan, N.J.) had her second consecutive night with a walk-off basehit when she drove in the winning run against the University of Minnesota-Morris in Friday's nightcap for a 4-3 final.
