Summary

Saturday, September 16:

Peter Coleman, former Mallory Cup Champion and America's Cup sailor, gave a half hour mini-clinic before the skipper's meeting. Conditions were a consistent 5-8 knots out of the South. We raced in Long Island Sound, outside of Black Rock Harbor. 6 races were held in A fleet and 4 races in B fleet. Fun was had by all with a pizza party immediately following racing featuring Pepe's Pizza provided by Regatta Ginger Beer.

Sunday, September 17:

The morning started with a wind delay for approximately 2 hours. Conditions built to 4-5 knots out of the East-Southeast. 4 races were completed by B fleet and 2 in A fleet. For much of the morning the current was stronger than the wind so the race committee boat was facing stern to the windward mark as tide was sweeping out. Congratulations to Salve 1 in first place, Fordham in second place, and Bates in third place. Additionally, we raffled off an Oracle Team USA hat signed by skipper Jimmy Spithill.
