HONOLULU, Hawaii (January 18) - The Salve Regina sailing team won the Peter Wenner Invitational Regatta in Honolulu, Hawaii, hosted by University of Hawaii on January 17 -18. The field of 14 competing schools came from Japan, British Columbia, as well as Hawaii and California.

Seahawk standouts include freshman Charles Welsh with junior Angelina Todaro who won B-division by an impressive 17points, and junior JP Silvestri with senior captain Baillie Lawless who placed third in A-division. Together, they brought home the victory against stiff competition.

Noteworthy performances were made by juniors Shannon Killian and Katie Travers who finished third in B-division, while freshman Sean Beaulieu and senior Catherine Corssen finished seventh in A-division.

"We hope to build off this momentum," said head coach John Ingalls. The team is currently preparing for its next event at the College of Charleston in mid-February followed by the Eckerd International in St. Petersburg, Fla., in early March.
