Bio

Kacie Gallo begins her first season as cross country head coach with her alma mater in 2023.

Gallo, a 2008 graduate of Salve Regina, joined the Seahawks during 2012-2013 season as an assistant coach and became the associate head coach shortly thereafter. She holds Bachelor of Science degrees in elementary education and special education from Salve Regina and a master’s degree in education from Providence College.

She was part of the coaching staff that led the 2015 women’s cross country team to a second-place finish at the Commonwealth Coast Conference Championship. Gallo also coached Victoria Varone when she placed 50th at the 2016 NCAA Division III New England Regional Championship, the best finish from a Salve athlete at the event.

"I am excited to have the opportunity to work with returners and newcomers alike," said Gallo. "I hope to help the student-athletes grow by not only improving in their specific events, but also to develop the skills and qualities that will help them make important contributions after leaving Salve. I want them to have a positive and memorable experience like the one I had when I ran track at Salve."

While at Salve Regina, Gallo was a two-sport athlete, competing in both women's soccer and track & field. She served as President of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (S.A.A.C.) from 2006-08, received the Meghan Strathman Award in 2007, and was named The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) Woman of the Year in 2008.
