Seahawks finish out the day at Westfield State

WESTFIELD, Mass.-- The Seahawk men's cross country team raced at the 27th annual James Earley Invitational on Saturday. Senior Shane Behn and junior Ty Gallagher were the top two Salve Regina finishers. 

Although the event featured a men's JV race and a men's varsity race, all four Salve Regina athletes competed at the varsity level. The 8k race began at 11:15 a.m. and 199 races crossed the finish line. 

The winning time of 24:56.41 was posted by Michael Olson from Plymouth State University, followed by Bennett Melita from Utica College with a time of 25:16.02.

The next race of the fall season is the Western New England Invitational and will take place on Saturday, Oct. 14 in Springfield, Mass. Racing will start at 11:15 a.m.
