NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University men's soccer (5-0-0, 0-0-0 CCC) hosts Curry College (5-1-1, 0-0-0 CCC) in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) opener for both schools.

Sophomore Owen Stevenson (Middletown, Conn.) netted two goals and junior Donald Igo (Needham, Mass.) netted a goal and an assist as Salve Regina remained unbeaten with a 4-1 non-league college men's soccer victory over UMass Dartmouth Wednesday evening at Cressy Field.

SEAHAWKS NOTES FROM THE NEST

  • Seniors Richie Leister, Matthew O'Donnell, and junior Noah Medeiros serve as tri-captains for the 2018 Seahawks.
  • Salve Regina has won three games in a row.
  • Evan MacDonald scored twice and assisted on two goals last week, helping to earn him Offensive Player of the Week in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC).
  • MacDonald leads the CCC in assists (five) and points (11) on the season.
  • Conor Woods scored his second and third goals of the season in a 4-1 road victory against UMass Dartmouth.

COLONELS CLIPPINGS

  • The Colonels have won three games in a row, all by 2-1 finals.
  • Keeper Paul DeMaio won last week's CCC Defensive Player of the Week. DeMaio went 3-0-1 in non-conference play with a 0.71 goals-against average and an .824 save percentage.
  • Claudio Orsini leads the team in scoring with three goals.
