SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) has selected Salve Regina University junior midfielder Evan MacDonald (Candia, N.H.) as its men's soccer Offensive Player of the Week (Sept. 3-9).

"Evan has been a stalwart for us on the field this season," says his head coach Craig O'Rourke II. "His commitment this past off-season was fantastic and he is starting to reap the rewards of all of his hardwork."

MacDonald scored a goal in each of Salve Regina's non-conference wins this week. He opened the week contributing a goal to the Seahawks' 7-2 win over Bridgewater State, while also assisting on two others for a four-point total. He then scored the only goal in Salve Regina's 1-0 victory over Newbury. MacDonald now leads the conference in both assists (four) and points (eight).

Salve Regina (3-0) faces former CCC foe Eastern Nazarene College on Monday at 3:30 p.m. before traveling to UMass Dartmouth on Wednesday. The Seahawks open their conference slate on Saturday when they welcome Curry College to Reynolds Field.
