Seahawks clinch third seed with dominant road win

WENHAM, Mass. - Max Beauchamp (Saunderstown, R.I.) totaled eight points (4g, 4a) to lead all scorers as the Salve Regina University men's lacrosse team defeated Gordon College 19-6 to wrap up the regular season and clinch the third seed in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) postseason.

The Seahawks raced out to a 4-0 lead through one quarter, led 7-2 at the half, then a massive 8-2 run in the third quarter broke the game wide open.

Beauchamp was one of three Seahawks to score four times joining Liam Cooney and Brendan Laundry to pace the Salve Regina scoring. 

Ryan Chambers made eight saves to improve to 7-6 in net this season for the Seahawks.

The Seahawks outshot the scors 67-28, the third most shots ever taken in program history.

Salve Regina (7-7, 5-3 CCC) earns the third seed in the CCC tournament and will host Nichols College on Saturday, April 30, at Gaudet Field.
