BEVERLY, Mass. - After surrendering the first goal of the game the Endicott College men's lacrosse team scored the next five in a row to lead 5-1 after one quarter and used that cushion to defeat Salve Regina University 15-9 in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action Wednesday afternoon.

Pat Leary (Wakefield, Mass.) scored the first of his team-high four goals to open the scoring in Salve Regina's favor. The lead held until 5:48 to go in the first when Sam Abate put the gulls on the board, sparking the 5-0 run to end the quarter. The teams would effectively battle even the rest of the game as the Gulls handed the Seahawks their first conference loss of the season.

Leary had his sixth hat-trick of the season to lead the Seahawks scoring effort while Liam Cooney (Portsmouth, R.I.) also chipped in three goals and an assist for his fifth hat-trick performance of the year.

Senior goalie Ryan Chambers (Wakefield, Mass.) stopped 15 shots to fall to 6-5 between the pipes for Salve Regina.

Salve Regina (6-5, 4-1 CCC) travels to face Western New England in another CCC matchup on Tuesday, April 19, at 7:00 p.m.
