Summary
MIDDLETOWN, R.I. - Senior goalie Brian McKinley (Nashua, N.H.) made 21 saves for visiting Nichols College as it topped the Salve Regina University men's lacrosse team 9-5 in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action Saturday afternoon.

The Seahawks honored their four seniors before the game. Vincent Bruno, Dakotah Jones, Mike Mongelli, and Dana Sundell comprise the Seahawks Class of 2019 and were joined by friends and family on the field for a special pregame ceremony commemorating their time at Salve Regina.

  1. Nichols senior Brian McKinley made a season-high 21 saves versus 27 shots on goal.
  2. Salve Regina junior Ethan Robson (Lincoln, R.I.) scored twice and dished out an assist.
  3. Salve Regina freshman Mike Sullivan (Exeter, N.H.) made 10 saves, his third straight game in double-digit saves, and fourth of the season.

Key Stat of the Game
The teams were even with 17 turnovers apiece however the Seahawks turned it over four times in the final eight minutes after they had cut the Bison lead to two goals.

Turning Point
After trailing the whole game, the Seahawks managed to claw back to within two goals when Ethan Robson netted his second of the day with 8:07 left in the fourth quarter. The Seahawks won the ensuing draw and had a shot on the goal to draw within one but McKinley was up to the task and stuffed the shot. The Bison quickly got out in transition and capped off the sequence with another goal to swing the momentum back and reestablish a three-goal differential. Pat Leary (Wakefield, Mass.) scored just over five minutes to go in the game to make it 8-6 in favor of the visitors but both sides committed a slew of turnovers, chewing up the clock, before Brett Shiffer (Milford, N.H.) salted the game away for the Bison with a goal at 1:17 remaining.
