NEWPORT, R.I. - The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) has selected Salve Regina University senior Mike Mongelli (Roslyn, N.Y.) as its Defensive Player of the Week.

Mongelli helped Salve Regina earn a 15-11 non-conference win over Saint Joseph's (Long Island). He had nine ground balls in the contest and two caused turnovers. He also pitched in on the offensive side of the ball with two goals and an assist.

Salve Regina (4-2, 1-0 CCC) hosts Curry College in another CCC matchup this Tuesday, April 2, at 4 p.m., at Gaudet Field.
