BRISTOL, R.I. - The Roger Williams University Men's Lacrosse team captured the Quahog Cup with a 13-6 win over intrastate rival Salve Regina University

Max Cammarota (Redding, Conn.) gave the Hawks an early 1-0 lead with a goal five minutes into the game. The Seahawks came back with a pair of goals by Alex Makoske (Shoreham, N.Y.) to take the lead away from RWU.

The Hawks came back with a 4-1 run to close out the final three minutes of the period, including a goal by Nick Gagnon (Milton, Mass.) with less than two seconds left in the quarter. Roger Williams went into the second quarter holding on to a 4-3 lead.

Will Siefert (Duxbury, Mass.) scored a man-up goal five minutes into the quarter before Sharp Jones (Scituate, Mass.) came back with a score for Salve Regina. RWU's Gagnon and Caleb Kenney (Portland, Maine) scored the final two goals of the quarter for an 8-4 halftime lead.

Salve Regina scored the lone goal in the third quarter, with Nick LoCiecero (Lynbrook, N.Y.) notching a goal at the 8:28 mark. Jones would later add another goal with 11:48 to play in the fourth quarter to bring the deficit within two. However, the Hawks ended the game with five unanswered goals to secure the win and the Quahog Cup.

AJ Core (Syosset, N.Y.) scored four points on a goal and three assists, while Cammarotta and Eddie Hill (Somers, Conn.) each added two goals and an assist. Gagnon finished with three goals in the game. Connor Carroll (Madison, Conn.) tallied five saves for the Hawks win.

Makoske and Jones each scored two goals for the Seahawks. Matt D'Amore (Duxbury, Mass.) logged 16 saves in the loss.

LoCicero finished the game with a goal and two assists. He now has 195 career points, giving him the programs all-time scoring record. Chris Walker had 192 career points (141g, 51a) from 2009 to 2012. LoCicero (56g, 139a) has broken that record in just his junior season.

"While we lost the contest versus an excellent Roger Williams ball club, I do want to highlight junior Nick LoCicero breaking the all-time point scoring record," said head coach Patrick Cooney.

Roger Williams (9-6, 5-1 CCC) hosts Endicott Saturday in the final home game of the regular season. Salve Regina (10-6, 3-4 CCC) ends the regular season at Wentworth Institute of Technology on Saturday.
